Now is the time of year to get your skates on......

Every year all over London pop-up skating rinks appear for the Christmas and New Year season.

The first rink to appear was at Somerset House and the rink has remained popular with celebrities and the public. There is even live music on club night!

If you want a spectacular backdrop why not try the rinks at the Natural History Museum in South Kensington, Hampton Court Palace at Hampton Court or the Tower of London.

For the shoppers among us - you can get your skates out at both the Westfield Shopping Centres (Stratford and London) and Canary Wharf.

The newest addition to the pop up ice rinks is the rink sponsored by EDF Energy at the London Eye. It looks really good fun - and the byline is 'eyeskate'!!!!!

For the complete Christmas experience why not visit the Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park - as well as it's ice skating rink there is also a German Market, a big wheel with enclosed pods for up to 6 persons, a few roller coaster rides, double decker carousel and for the children among us Zippos Circus with  jugglers, clowns and aeriel performers.
